Guac and Roll! My Simple Guacamole Recipe

Yes, I know I’m cheesy. But hey, who doesn’t enjoy an avocado pun? This guacamole is incredibly flavourful and takes only 20 minutes to make. My favourite way to eat this recipe is on a salad or an omelette, but it can be used to top just about anything. One of the many great things about guacamole is all the health benefits from the avocado. For instance, the fats in avocado help you absorb plant nutrients, so when you add it to a salad you’re helping your body absorb antioxidants. Avocados are also high in heart healthy fats, they’re loaded with fiber and can help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 white onion (finely diced)
  • 4-6 slices of pickled jalapeno (chopped)
  • 1/2 a lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

**The more jalapeno you add the hotter it is. If you’re looking for a kick add the full amount, for a more mild flavour add in the least amount or none at all


In a small mixing bowl, combine garlic, onions, jalapeno, salt and pepper.

Around 20 minutes before you’re ready to eat, add in your avocado. Mash everything together until you reach a consistency you like. I prefer a chunkier guac but keep on mashing if you prefer a smoother consistency. Squeeze on the juice of your lime. Stir together well, cover and place in the fridge. When you’re ready to eat give your guac one final stir and enjoy!
